Inter Agra highlights how wooden crate details reduce crop damage during storage

Maintaining crop quality after harvest remains a major challenge for potato, onion and carrot producers, particularly during long-term storage where mechanical damage can reduce product quality and market value.

Inter Agra has introduced a range of agricultural wooden crates engineered to help reduce bruising, scraping and crushing during storage and handling operations. The company stated that careful handling alone is often not enough to prevent crop damage and that storage containers play an important role in protecting produce quality throughout the storage season. 
 

Construction designed to reduce crop damage

Inter Agra’s wooden storage crates are designed with planed internal surfaces intended to minimize abrasions and scratching during loading and unloading. The company also mills and bevels internal edges and structural elements to reduce pressure bruising on produce positioned at the bottom of the crate.

According to Inter Agra, rounded internal contours help avoid crop damage that can occur from contact with sharp edges or corners.
 

Moisture-controlled wood for stability and durability

Inter Agra uses wood dried to a moisture content of 16%, which the company states helps prevent warping, cracking and splinter formation over time. The controlled moisture level also supports the use of waterproof bonding adhesives intended to improve crate durability and long-term structural stability.
 

Precision manufacturing and stacking stability

The company's automated production process is designed to ensure dimensional consistency across all wooden crates.

According to Inter Agra, uniform dimensions support secure stacking in large-scale storage operations, helping distribute weight evenly and reducing the risk of crushing crops stored in lower layers.
 

Storage protection for potatoes and vegetables

Inter Agra stated that the wooden crate systems are designed to support the storage of potatoes, onions, carrots and other agricultural products while helping maintain crop quality and market value throughout extended storage periods.
