The programmes at ICAR-CPRI Ooty station are development of agro-techniques for potato cultivation, development of varieties possessing combined resistance to late blight and cyst nematode and to develop control measures for soil and tuber-borne diseases.

The station possesses a total of 26.17 hectares land out of which 20 hectares is under cultivation with assured irrigation facility. Infrastructure includes laboratory buildings, administrative building, library cum tissue culture laboratory, staff rooms and potato sheds.

The ICAR-CPRI Research Station in Shillong has been established in the year 1959.
