The Isollux Proline PV3™ is a high-performance LED luminaire engineered specifically for the demanding conditions found in modern food-processing and hygienic production environments.
Developed in partnership with SKT Belgium, PV3 addresses the challenges created by high-pressure wash-down, aggressive cleaning chemicals, automated Clean-in-Place (CIP) systems, continuous vibration, extreme humidity, steam exposure, rapid thermal cycling and temperatures ranging from fryer to freezer.
Unlike conventional industrial luminaires, PV3 is engineered for long-term reliability under continuous thermal, chemical and mechanical stress, helping minimise maintenance, reduce downtime and provide dependable illumination for production, inspection, monitoring and maintenance operations.
Designed for Demanding Environments
Modern food-processing facilities can expose lighting equipment to some of the harshest operating conditions. Steam injection, high-temperature sanitation, aggressive chemical agents, high humidity and rapid temperature changes can progressively degrade conventional materials.
The PV3 Series uses conservatively specified components, de-rated electrical operating conditions and application-specific material systems to maximise service life in these demanding environments.
Its hygienic, free-draining construction prevents the accumulation of chemicals and residues during wash-down, while its robust architecture provides reliable operation in automated and manually operated processing areas.

Three Material Variants
Different food-processing environments require different levels of resistance to heat, steam, humidity and cleaning chemicals. PV3 is therefore available in three lens/material configurations.
M1 – Clear Prismatic
M1 is the highest-performance option for the most demanding environments.
It is engineered for exceptional resistance to:
- High temperatures
- Direct steam exposure
- Hydrolysis
- Extreme humidity
- Aggressive cleaning chemicals
- Repeated thermal and chemical exposure
M1 is developed for automated steam and hot-water CIP systems and is also suitable for intensive sanitation, high-temperature food production, pharmaceutical processing, chemical processing and other environments where conventional lens materials can deteriorate.
M1 supports short-duration direct steam exposure of up to 134°C, according to the stated application conditions.
An optional internal diffuser can improve visual comfort while remaining protected behind the M1 prismatic lens.
M2 – Clear Prismatic
M2 is optimised for demanding food-production environments requiring regular sanitation.
Based on proven TPX lens technology, M2 is suitable for applications involving daily high-pressure hot-water wash-down and foam sanitation, but is not intended for continuous high humidity or steam cleaning.
Recommended applications include:
- Meat processing
- Poultry processing
- Dairy processing
- Refrigerated food production
- General hygienic food processing
- Sanitised aquaculture processing
- Sanitised conveyors and picking lines
An optional internal diffuser provides improved visual comfort while protecting the diffusing material from the operating environment.
M3 – Polycarbonate
M3 provides a cost-effective solution for less aggressive environments.
It combines the hygienic and serviceable PV3 design with a robust polycarbonate lens, making it suitable where specialised engineering polymers are not required.
Recommended applications include:
- Picking tables
- Packaging areas
- General food processing
- General industrial wash-down
- Non-sanitised aquaculture facilities
M3 is available with diffused or clear prismatic polycarbonate lenses and retains the PV3 system's selectable LED arrays and variable light-distribution capability.
Adjustable Light Distribution
PV3 provides flexible optical control to match the lighting requirements of different production areas.
Integrated DIP switching allows the available light output to be redistributed on site without changing the luminaire. The light can be configured for:
- One-sided distribution
- Opposing distribution
- Three-quarter distribution
- Full 360° distribution
The luminaire can also be physically rotated to suit the task.
360° Distribution
In enclosed stainless-steel CIP tunnels, the 360° distribution pattern uses surrounding reflective surfaces to provide highly uniform illumination for direct inspection and remote monitoring.
Targeted Distribution
For manual inspection, grading and picking operations, light can be concentrated onto the working surface. This can increase task illuminance and reduce glare and operator visual fatigue without increasing system power.
Chemical Resistance
The M2 material system has been tested against elevated concentrations of active ingredients commonly used in food-processing cleaning and sanitation chemicals.
M1 builds on the M2 benchmark with enhanced performance at elevated temperatures, together with resistance to direct steam exposure and long-term hydrolysis.
The stated chemical-resistance testing includes exposure to active ingredients such as:
- Acetic acid
- Ethoxylated alcohols
- Amines
- Benzalkonium chloride
- Benzyl alkyldimethyl chlorides
- Disodium metasilicate
- Dodecyldimethylamine oxide
- Ethanol
- Hydrogen peroxide
- Hypochlorous acid
- Peracetic acid
- Potassium hydroxide
- Quaternary ammonium compounds
- Secondary alkanesulphonates
- Sodium carbonate
- Sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate
- Sodium hydroxide
- Sodium hypochlorite
Material selection should be based on the actual cleaning regime, chemical composition, concentration and exposure conditions. For unusually aggressive cleaning protocols, technical support should be consulted.
Hygienic Construction
Every PV3 incorporates a hygienic, free-draining design that allows chemicals and residues to drain freely during wash-down.
Standard construction features include:
- 316 stainless-steel two-part standard brackets
- Optional 316 stainless-steel ring mounts
- CNC-machined 316 stainless-steel end caps
- Blue food-grade EPDM seals
- IP69K ingress protection
- IK10 impact resistance
- Optional DIP-selectable directional LED array control
The mounting system is designed to secure the luminaire while damping vibration in CIP tunnels.
An optional rubber bush can provide additional vibration isolation where excessive movement is present.
Distributed Power Architecture
PV3 uses a distributed power architecture, with the LED driver positioned remotely from the hostile operating environment.
This architecture is designed to improve long-term reliability while simplifying installation and future maintenance.
The system can support individual or grouped lighting circuits and can integrate with lighting controls and emergency-lighting systems.
The IP69K enclosure is field serviceable, providing access to seals and components for long-term maintenance. A fly lead is supplied as standard, with in-line connection options available where required.
Easy Installation & Maintenance
PV3 has been engineered to simplify installation, commissioning and servicing.
Torque-set, CNC-machined 316 stainless-steel end plates are recessed into the end caps to protect the EPDM sealing system while providing easy access to the power connection and output-selection DIP switches.
The DIP controls are positioned opposite the cable entry, allowing output adjustment after installation without compromising ingress protection.
Internal lever connections and replaceable EPDM seals simplify future maintenance.
Optional configurations include:
- Through-wiring
- Breather systems
- Suspension kits
- Quick-release surface mounts
- Wall mounting
- Machine mounting
- Closed-loop brackets for vertical installations
The open-loop, two-piece 316 stainless-steel brackets can be positioned anywhere along the luminaire body, eliminating predetermined fixing centres and allowing rotational adjustment for precise light distribution.
