It’s an end to an era for one Maui snack business. After about 50 years Maui Potato Chip Inc. will be closing up shop on Dec. 15. The store is currently located at 295 Lalo St. in Kahului on Maui and only has a few more weeks

Mahi Pono is planning to start commercial potato production on Maui, Hawaii after successful test crop. The company donated nearly 30,000 pounds of red, white and yellow potatoes of their test crop to local food banks.

A class-action lawsuit has been filed against the maker of potato chips sold under the brand name Hawaiian, claiming the chips made in Washington State - and not on Hawaii - are misleading customers.
