British ingredients supplier, Daymer Ingredients, has entered into an agreement with AKV, a Danish potato ingredients producer, to sell its native and clean label, functional potato starches in the United Kingdom.

With effect from October 7, 2022, the Danish farmer-owned cooperative AKV Langholt AmbA has acquired Cargill’s 50% share in their mutual joint venture Cargill-AKV I/S.

Cargill is expanding its Simpure portfolio of label-friendly functional native starches with the addition of three potato starches designed for meat, meat alternatives and culinary applications.

Cargill and its Danish potato starch partner, AKV Langholt AmbA, are investing $22.5 million USD (EUR 19 million) in a new potato starch production unit at their Langholt facility in Denmark.
