This week, the first potatoes will arrive for Royal Avebe's potato campaign. The potatoes from Avebe's farmer members will be processed into potato starch and potato protein.

Dutch Potato Starch manufacturer Royal Avebe just processed the last potatoes of the 2023-2024 campaign at the Ter Apelkanaal production location.

Every site of Royal Avebe has its own Human Resources challenges. This includes the Avebe Kartoffelstärkefabrik Prignitz/Wendland (KPW) sites in Germany. The relatively high average age of the staff creates capacity challenges for the future.

Potato Starch manufacturer Royal Avebe has started the campaign at production location Gasselternijveen. Growing conditions were excellent until early July, but heat and lack of precipitation in recent weeks is cause for concern.

Following an unpredictable cultivation season, the Avebe production locations have now started up again. The first potatoes are ready to be delivered at the locations in Gasselternijveen (NL) and Dallmin (Germany).
