Joppe-Pregerm BV

The Joppe Pre-germination System, created by Joppe-Pregerm BV in Melissant, Netherlands, provides a large-scale, mechanical technology for pre-sprouting seed potatoes.

This approach combines a specialized storage method with a 10 to 14-day acceleration, allowing plants to emerge two to three weeks early.  It consists of specially constructed pre-sprouting bags and steel racks, each holding roughly 1,400 kg of seed potatoes.

These racks can be stacked two or three high both indoors and outdoors, and they have universal hooks for simple transport with forklifts or telehandlers.
