Mts. Koenraadt-Heerink

Mts. Koenraadt-Heerink is a family-run arable farm near Tollebeek/Espel, Netherlands, that has become a well-known Dutch producer of potatoes and sweet potatoes. 

Over the last few years, the farm has increased its sweet potato area from trial plots to approximately 20-30 hectares, growing types such as Beauregard, Covington, and Bellevue alongside seed potatoes, onions, sugar beets, and cereals.

The family, which includes Joris and Thijs (as well as parents Harry and Annet), has invested in post-harvest infrastructure to improve quality and marketability, including a washing line, dedicated storage (kistenbewaring), and a new cleaning system developed with Polderjongens to help with packing and marketing their own produce. 

These techniques help to extend shelf life and meet customer specifications for fresh and contract markets.
