J.R. Simplot announces major expansion of its Manitoba Potato Processing operations
Yesterday the Manitoba government and Agribusiness J.R. Simplot Company (Simplot) announced a major investment and expansion in the company’s Manitoba-based potato processing operations near Portage la Prairie.

El uso intensivo del suelo con papa y ganadería estaría afectando al páramo de Guacheneque. Este páramo provee el 30 % del agua que consume Bogotá. Una opción para protegerlo es pagar por servicios ambientales. Así, los usuarios del suelo reciben dinero por dejar una porción de sus predios con bosque nativo.
