NSSPL Modified Atmoshpheric Cold Storage

NSSPL Modified Atmosphere Cold storage is used mainly for the storage of fresh vegetables. In this type of storage, a modified atmosphere is created and maintained. This is done by maintaining a pre-determined temperature and high humidity throughout the room.

  • This type of storage technology is mainly used for root vegetables like Potatoes ,Onion, Garlic, Carrots, Beet Root and similar products.
  • In this type of storage Temperature, Humidity, Carbon-Dioxide and proper air flow within the produce is maintained with high accuracy and precision.
  • NSSPL offer wide capacity range of storage system starting from 500 MT to 50,000 MT and above.

The technology behind this kind of atmosphere extends the shelf life of foods, especially fruits and vegetables. The main focus of this technology is to reduce the respiration rate of the food product which causes early ripening and decay.

Although Modified Atmosphere Cold storage provides lesser control than a controlled atmosphere cold storage, the former also thrives on the modification of temperature and gaseous composition of the storage room. An optimal balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide is maintained which is critical and different for each product.

The idea is to control respiration, retard the microbial growth specially molds and minimize enzymatic spoilage. The chlorophyll breakdown is delayed which results in higher colour stability and maintaining the visual appeal of the food item. Modified atmosphere can extend the shelf life of meat, poultry, fish, grains, oilseeds, fruits and vegetables.

Natural Storage solutions Pvt. Ltd. provides total storage solutions for root vegetables like onion, garlic, carrot, processed potatoes etc. This type of storage system is very useful for the control of sugar level in the products like potatoes which is in high demand by food processing industries.

Depending upon the types of products and applications following stacking arrangements inside these storages may be used.
