All employees laid off after fire guts Oregon potato chip plant
Two weeks after a fire severely damaged a plant that produced chips and salty snacks in northeast Oregon the company says it will lay off all of the site’s employees.

One of the area’s largest manufacturers is gone, after a boiler explosion at Shearer’s Foods plant south of Hermiston sparked a dramatic fire Tuesday afternoon.
