GEM Equipment of Oregon Inc

GEM Equipment of Oregon, Inc., founded in 1968, has established itself as a reliable manufacturer of customized food processing equipment, especially for the vegetable and potato industries. The company began focusing on fryers in 1985, when it successfully produced its first French fry fryer.

Over the years, GEM Equipment has developed its expertise to design, build, and install some of the industry's largest French fry fryers and blanchers, meeting the demands of large-scale potato processors.

In 2023, FPS Food Process Solutions, a global provider of turnkey food processing systems, bought GEM Equipment. This acquisition expanded GEM's product offerings, allowing food processors to access a diverse range of integrated solutions, including French fry and specialized potato processing lines.

GEM has been an integral element of the Pacific Northwest potato business from its founding, providing engineering, manufacture, installation, and equipment rebuilding services. Its product portfolio includes augers, blanchers, fryers, batter application systems, graders, mixers, vibrating conveyors, stainless steel tubing, and other items. Each piece of equipment is customized to meet specific operational needs, providing efficiency and dependability for food processing applications.

GEM Equipment of Oregon, currently undergoing renovations to expand its Mt Angel, Oregon location, is expected to finish completion in Spring 2026. The 110,000 ft² (10,200 m²) space will accommodate manufacturing, spare parts, inventory and office space.
