R.D. Offutt Company and affiliates is the largest potato grower in the United States, operating farms in seven states.

In excess of 50,000 acres of potatoes are grown annually for the frozen processing and fresh markets.

R.D. Offutt Company is also involved in 11 potato processing facilities in four states that produce frozen potato products, fresh pack potatoes, and potato flakes. These products are sold into both the retail and foodservice markets.

R.D. Offutt Company is a Fargo-based company and was established in 1964.

Potato grower R.D. Offutt has agreed to scale back its expansion plans in Minnesota in a deal with regulators to protect sensitive groundwater and pine forests in central Minnesota.
Pine forests such as this one south of Park Rapids, Minn., have been cleared for potato fields.
