Fatal accident at Aviko Steenderen
A 44 year old employee of Aviko Steenderen was fatally wounded during a work place accident in Aviko's potato processing factory. The accident happened thursday night and was reported around 2.40 am.
The man was cleaning a fryer when due to unknown causes the fryer hood came down, trapping and injuring the man.
Despite internal and external emergency response efforts, the man died of his injuries.
Labour inspection will investigate the accident. Colleagues were offered grief counseling.
