Flo-Mech just announced a major company expansion with the building of Flo-Mech House #2. Building work will commence in June and the purpose-built office will house their Energy Sustainability, Health, Safety, and Service departments, as well as a dedicated R&D/demo lab for machinery trials and testing.

Flo-Mech’s Energy Sustainability department is also expanding rapidly and in May 2010 recruited a dedicated Energy & Sustainability Engineer, Allan Balata, to work alongside their Dr. Francois Pierrel in helping their customers to tackle their Energy Sustainability challenges.

Allan’s wealth of energy optimization experience gained through previous roles at McKinnon Clarke and Tate Lyle is a great asset to the company. The growth of their Energy Sustainability department is set to continue as more and more customers seek to utilize their expertise in reducing operating costs and reducing their carbon footprint.

The Flo-Mech Engineering department has also seen a few changes in recent months with the addition of 2 new Project Engineers to demonstrate their commitment to their customer’s growing demands.

Leigh Robinson joined the Project Engineering team in November 2010, bringing with him an ‘end-users’ perspective, having previously been a Project Engineer in his home country of Australia for an international snacks producer. Phil Blackwell joined Flo-Mech in January 2011 and is a highly qualified Project Engineer with over 10 years of food industry experience.
