The dispute between workers at the potato packaging factory in Vryssoules and their employers will be discussed at the Labour Ministry on Monday.
The two sides met at the ministry yesterday and relayed their views to the mediation service. The ministry proposed arbitration and the two sides committed to giving a final answer on Monday. “The two sides essentially expressed their views on the Labour Ministry’s position and on Monday, a new meeting will take place to see how we will proceed with the matter,” said Christakis Demetri, secretary of workers’ union SEGDAMELIN-PEO.
He added that the factory would remain closed until Monday, in the hope that a final solution is found to the problem.
