Bags of crisps are set to cost a packet - thanks to the soaring cost of potatoes.
The humble spud now costs 70 per cent more than a year ago and experts say consumers will end up footing the bill.
The cost of raw materials such as wheat, maize and sunflower oil, are up 20 per cent since the start of 2011.
If passed directly to consumers, the cost of a bag of Walkers cheese and onion would rise from 45p to 54p.
