Convenience Food Systems (CFS), a manufacturer of food processing and packaging equipment was sold to the GEA Group in December 2010. As of that time, the business operated under the name GEA Convenience Food Technologies.
At Anuga FoodTec the company announced that this GEA division will be renamed GEA Food Solutions, reports TheMeatsite Newsdesk.
Stefan de Roo, segment corporate marketing manager for GEA Food Solutions said the change of name was bringing the division in line with the concept of general food production rather than specifically meat and meat products.
The push forward to a new identity for GEA Food Solutions is expected to take place over the coming months.
GEA Food Solutions has a strong focus on equipment for meat processing and packaging, but also manufacturers a range of equipment used in potato processing, such as forming equipment for potato specialties, equipment for pasteurisation and equipment for gas and vacuum packaging as well as VFFS packaging machinery.
