De McCain fabriek in Lelystad groeit en zal nieuwe medewerkers aantrekken om tegemoet te komen aan de toenemende vraag. De conversie van gekoelde gasverpakte frites naar diepvries frites zit in de lift en daardoor kan McCain Foods Holland extra werkgelegenheid in de regio Lelystad scheppen.
Groeistrategie
McCain Foods is de grootste producent van diepvries frites ter wereld en wil de positie als markleider verstevigen. Na een afzetgroei in 2011 zet McCain in op verdere ontwikkeling van het volume: om de groei bij te kunnen benen zal McCain investeren. In de regio Lelystad gaat binnen enkele weken een campagne van start om nieuwe medewerkers te werven.
Henk Dollekamp, Sales &Marketing Directeur McCain Foodservice Benelux: “In verschillende landen in Europa zien we deze volumetrend: diepvries frites groeien in populariteit ten koste van gekoelde gasverpakte frites, onder meer door de constantere kwaliteit. Maar ook door de grotere behoefte aan gemak: diepvries frites hebben een kortere afbaktijd en zijn heel efficiënt te bereiden. Bovendien bakt McCain de frites voor in zonnebloemolie zonder palmolie, een belangrijk criterium voor zowel de ondernemer en de consument.”
