Natural color solutions for snack foods: visit Chr. Hansen at SNAXPO

Chr. Hansen invites snack professionals attending the SNAXPO trade show in Phoenix, Arizona, US March 17-19, 2012 to visit their booth to see its full range of natural colors for snack foods and to discuss the opportunities in natural colors with leading color experts.

Chr. Hansen recently expanded its Technical R&D Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to specifically address the growing need for natural color solutions for snack food and other prepared foods.

"Our new Global Expertise Center features the most state-of-the-art equipment and technical capabilities to advise on applying natural colors for products, which include extruded and baked applications, topically applied oils and spray-dried powders for seasoning blends. Chr. Hansen now offers a wide range of natural colors specifically for the snack food industry. Our natural colors range from yellow, orange, red and brown shades, to give your product the most appealing hue that will satisfy your consumers,"says Byron Madkins, Director, Color Product Development, Chr. Hansen, Inc.

Of the 2010 retail snacks sales of $11.3 billion dollars as reported by the Snack Food Association, it is estimated that 34% or approximately $3.8 billion use color.

"As the snack food industry continues to explore ways to offer their consumers a cleaner label by switching from synthetic to natural colors, Chr. Hansen offers a wide range of pigments, including annatto, turmeric, paprika, red beet, beta carotene, orange, violet and black carrots, caramel and a wide range of blends to best meet your product needs,"Byron Madkins continues.
