Tong Peal showcase at BP2013

十月 28, 2013

Tong Peal will debut its brand new suite of packhouse equipment, alongside its market leading grading and handling equipment at this year's British Potato 2013, held on 27th &28th November.

Tong Peal will be present on stand 424, showcasing its virtually maintenance-free TPS-Pro Polisher and newly designed Sponge Drier, as well as the latest developments in tipping and filling equipment.

Designed with the latest technological advances in mind, the TPS-Pro Polisher offers a new generation in crop polishing. What makes the TPS-Pro Polisher different to those currently available on the market is the fact that it has electric direct drive motors INSIDE every shaft. These unique internally sealed motors, which are completely contained in their own high temperature resistant, food-grade oil baths, mean there are no external bearing, drive or motor arrangements which are normally exposed to the elements associated with polishing.

As the motors are completely immersed in their own oil baths, they are continuously and entirely lubricated, regardless of position or angle. This ultimately ensures longevity, reliability and virtually removes the need for maintenance of not only the motors, but subsequently the polisher itself. Suitable for a wide range of root crop, the TPS-Pro Polisher is supported by a 2 year guarantee and is engineered to very high standards, with heavy duty stainless steel construction and gold-plated electrical contact points for optimum longevity and efficiency.

Manufactured in a 14 brush model featuring a 3m long x 800mm barrel, as well as an 18 brush model featuring a 3m long x 1050mm barrel, the TPS-Pro polisher provides outputs of between 15-30 tonnes per hour.

“We’re really looking forward to showcasing our latest equipment at BP2013 and discussing the latest industry developments with packers and growers from across the globe. Although the TPS-Pro Polisher is new to the Tong Peal packhouse range, the German-engineered machine is proven, with many years of incredibly low maintenance polishing under the most demanding environments within some of the largest food processing plants in Europe, and the machine can offer the same labour savings and efficiencies to UK potato processors” commented Charles Tong, Managing Director at Tong Peal Engineering.

“Over the last 12 months, we have invested significantly in developing a new suite of equipment to meet the changing needs of growers and packhouse professionals. Although this has allowed us to provide effective custom solutions for a number of companies in the packing sector, we have also seen record sales for our market-leading Caretaker grader with EasyClean separator, which has once again proved itself invaluable for growers.”

As well as the TPS-Pro Polisher, Tong Peal will also showcase its newly designed crop drying system – the Sponge Drier – on stand 424, as well the latest tipping and filling equipment.
