On 6 June 2023, under the slogan "The Changing Geopolitical Landscape and the Future for Potato Trade", the first-time ever Polish edition of the Europatat Congress will focus on the impact of current geopolitics for international agri-food trade and on the effect of EU’s Green Deal’s goals and new consumption trends for the potato sector inside and outside Europe.

The organisers, the Polish Potato Federation and Europatat, are now delighted to announce the main confirmed speakers of the event taking place in Gdansk, Poland.

Today the European potato sector is faced with many challenges related not only to high energy prices, climate change, increased regulatory requirements and trade barriers, but also to production and consumption trends such as local food, organic, vegan, etc and new agriculture techniques.

Europatat Congress’ speakers will share with the audience their views on the main challenges related to food production and potato trade and consumption in Europe and beyond.

The opening session of the Congress will feature notable guest speakers such as Tigran Richter, President of Europatat, Tomasz Bienkoswki, President of the Polish Potato Federation, and a representative from the Polish Ministry of Agriculture and Rural development.

These interventions will be followed by an inspiring keynote speech that will invite participants to think out of the “potato box”. The name of the keynote speaker will be announced soon, stay tuned!

After the lunch break, a panel composed by Antonina Skliarenko, President of the Community of Pulse Producers and Customers of Ukraine, Geoffroy d’Evry, President of NEPG (North European Potatoes Growers) and UNPT (Union Nationale des Producteurs de Pommes de Terre), Jörg Renatus, Managing Director of Europlant International, and Jarosław Wańkowicz, Supply Chain Director at Farm Frites Poland SA, will discuss how the changing geopolitical landscape is affecting agri-food trade in general, and potato trade in particular, in Europe and globally.

Finally, Berta Redondo Benito, Secretary General of Europatat, will close the event, which will be followed by a Gala Dinner at the wonderful Polish Baltic Philarmonic.

Register and don’t miss the opportunity to join the annual gathering of the European potato community in the beautiful city of Gdansk (Poland) from 5 to 7 June 2023
