The first week of July in Brazil was marked by the 2026/2027 Crop Plan, the start of the winter potato harvest, advances in biotechnology, new sanitary regulations, and weather changes affecting the potato sector.

Embrapa has introduced the BRS F21 potato cultivar to meet the needs of growers and the processing industry. The variety combines high yield potential, disease resistance and strong frying performance, particularly for chips and shoestring potatoes.
