The potato production in the Czech Republic is showing a long and steady decline in production area as well as in total yield, as far back as to 1955.
Total Potato Production in 2011 amounted to 973 859 tons harvested from 33 580 Hectares (29 tonnes/ha) according to the Czech Statistical Office.
Compare that to the Czech potato production in 1955 of 5 709 925 from 437 193 Hectares (13 tonnes/ha) illustrates the steep decline.
The more recent changes in production are illustrated in the graph below, presented at the 65th Europatat conference in the Czech Republic.
