Funky Monkey Snacks today announces a national distribution agreement with Whole Foods Market for its delicious, all-natural freeze-dried fruit. Effective February 1, 2008, Funky Monkey’s "Fruit That Crunches!"™ will be sold in all 250 Whole Foods Market stores across the country.
Funky Monkey Snacks are produced in Brazil using a proprietary process that freeze-dries whole slices and large pieces of native tropical fruits at the peak of freshness and flavor. The process yields a crisp, crunchy texture and preserves nearly all of the natural goodness of fruit with nothing added – no added sugar, colors, flavors or preservatives.
"Securing distribution with Whole Foods Market has been one of our top priorities because of their status as the world’s largest retailer of natural and organic foods. It is also part of a broader strategy to expand our market presence from regional grocery store chains and Internet retailers to large national chains,"said Matt Herzog, President of Funky Monkey Snacks. "Although we have been in the market for less than six months, we are making rapid progress in our mission to become a snack staple on store shelves."
