Muru Pillpintu, also known as Muru Tiqur or Muru Papa, is a moderately abundant potato variety of Solanum tuberosum subsp. andigena. It grows semi-erect and is adapted to high altitudes between 3,300 and 4,000 meters above sea level. The variety has low flowering intensity, moderate susceptibility to disease (rancha), and moderate frost tolerance. It stores well for more than 5 months.

Tuber Characteristics:

  • Shape: Oblong
  • Skin Color: Primary pale yellow with irregular red patches
  • Flesh Color: Cream
  • Primary sprout color: Red
  • Number of tubers per plant: 17 to 20
  • Yield per plant: 0.8 to 1.0 kg
