The TOPPA 600 Combi promotes uniform tuber size and quality by reducing haulm two to three weeks before harvest. This process helps prevent virus transmission from haulm to tubers and improves skin set for better storability. It provides a sustainable alternative or supplement to chemical treatments by mechanically crushing the haulm and placing it carefully between the ridges.
Designed for efficiency, the rear-mounted TOPPA 600 Combi can top multiple rows in one pass and is ideal for combination use with a front-mounted unit such as the TOPPA 200. This allows up to six rows to be processed simultaneously, increasing productivity while reducing the risk of blockages at the harvester intake, even in dense haulm conditions.
Highlights
The TOPPA 600 Combi offers high flexibility with one-sided machine lifting, allowing both booms to be controlled independently via a hydraulic control box or ISOBUS. This enables efficient operation on irregular or wedge-shaped fields. The pendular suspension of the two housings ensures excellent ground adaptation, while an optional hydraulic side shift further improves alignment.
For precise row tracking, the machine can be equipped with automatic ridge self-centre steering, which follows ridge alignment automatically or manually as needed. This is especially useful when planter and topper row configurations differ. The optional RidgeRunner system helps close cracks in the ridges after topping, protecting tubers from sunlight and reducing the risk of greening while maintaining self-cleaning performance.
The TOPPA 600 Combi also ensures optimal working height through the tractor’s three-point linkage and adjustable support wheels. Height can be set mechanically or hydraulically, with a clear scale for monitoring. For advanced precision, automatic height guidance using skids is available, ensuring consistent performance across varying field conditions.
