Door het goede weer in de eerste helft van oktober is begin week 42 naar schatting tussen de 75 en 80% van de consumptieaardappelen gerooid.
Ten Zuiden van de grote rivieren ligt men t.o.v. het noordelijke deel van Nederland iets achter.
De laatste loodjes voor wat de aardappeloogst betreft zullen gezien de weersvooruitzichten niet makkelijk zijn. Insiders achten het niet ondenkbaar dat niet alle aardappelen gerooid zullen worden.
Van het restant te rooien areaal consumptieaardappelen (ca. 22%) staat een deel op zware grond. Met het snel korter worden van de dagen en een aanhoudend wisselvallig weerbeeld kan het op zware gronden wel eens te laat gaan worden om nog een acceptabel product te oogsten.
