tna, the food packaging solutions specialist, has appointed Sekhar Chakkingal as regional sales manager for Canada.
An accomplished sales professional, Sekhar will strengthen tna’s presence in a market earmarked for substantial growth.
This appointment reflects tna‘s customer commitment, with Sekhar as the first on-the-ground manager for Canada – a responsibility which previously fell under the remit of the tna North America office.
Sekhar transfers to the new role in Toronto from tna’s Middle East, India and Africa base, where he represented the company for over four years. During this time, Sekhar more than doubled sales in the region while successfully breaking into new application areas such as fresh produce to complement tna’s traditional snacking customer base. His twenty plus years’ international experience in the field of sales includes senior positions at Fedex Canada and Xerox in India and the U.A.E. Sekhar holds an MBA in Marketing and speaks several languages.
Commenting on the appointment, Mark Lozano, sales manager North America at tna, said: “Sekhar’s addition is great news for the tna team in North America. His ability to think outside the box is a great asset in a market with as much potential for growth Canada’s.”
Sekhar adds: ”I am very excited to be spearheading tna operations in Canada at such a significant point in time – both for tna and Canada. As the population and economy here continue to grow, our plans for the region are ambitious. With the recent addition of Arcall, there is even greater scope to diversify our customer base and identify opportunities in a virgin market.”
