United Biscuits is celebrating another success in its bid to cut waste by eliminating landfill from four of its factories.
The McVitie’s and Hula Hoops maker said its sites at Hayes, Consett, Rotherham and Ashby were no longer sending non-food waste to landfill. That comes after the company last year eliminated food waste being sent to landfill from its 14 UK facilities.
“We’ll continue to work hard to ensure more of our sites achieve this until we meet our target of zero waste to landfill by 2012,” said UK managing director Mark Thorpe.
