Emsland Group welcomed Lower Saxony Prime Minister Olaf Lies to its Emlichheim site as part of his 2026 summer tour, where discussions focused on innovation, regional value creation and the future competitiveness of Lower Saxony's economy. 
 

Tour Highlights Sustainable Production

During the visit, Prime Minister Lies, accompanied by Members of the Lower Saxony State Parliament Andrea Kötter and Reinhold Hilbers, toured the facility and learned about Emsland Group's production processes, including the transformation of potatoes and peas into starch, protein and fibre products.

The discussions covered sustainable food ingredients, modern production technologies, cooperation with the agricultural sector and the importance of maintaining a strong industrial base in rural areas.
