一月 18, 2008

"Spuds Rule OK"is a brand new booklet produced by the British Potato Council (BPC) to help caterers, school meal providers and local authorities meet the government’s nutritional guidelines for school meals. As well as being packed full of nutritional advice and hints and tips on getting the most out of potatoes the booklet also contains a Two Week Menu Planner for primary schools developed by the British Nutrition Foundation.

Featuring a choice of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, the menu planner suggests a main course dish, a dessert and a drink for lunch times from Monday to Friday for a two week period. Potatoes are featured either as a side dish or as part of a main course meal almost every day of the week and nutritional breakdown charts are provided for each week.

The booklet is available free of charge to caterers, local authorities and school meal providers in the UK.
