Lamb Weston plans closure of Broekhuizenvorst potato processing facility in the Netherlands

Lamb Weston Holdings, Inc. has announced plans to close its potato processing facility in Broekhuizenvorst, the Netherlands, as part of efforts to align its global supply chain footprint with evolving market conditions and improve operational efficiency.

According to the company, the proposed closure forms part of its broader executional excellence initiatives and ongoing Focus to Win strategy, which includes prioritizing markets and channels, strengthening customer partnerships, improving operational performance and supporting innovation. 
 

Consultation process and employee support
 

Sylvia Wilks, Chief Supply Chain Officer of Lamb Weston:

"These actions are part of our commitment to ensure the long-term resilience and competitiveness of our global supply chain network. While this is a very difficult step, particularly given the strong commitment of our Broekhuizenvorst team, it is necessary to position us to improve our operational efficiency and better align our manufacturing footprint with customer needs."

The company will begin a formal consultation process with the Works Council in accordance with Dutch regulations before any final decisions are implemented.

Lamb Weston stated that it intends to support the approximately 110 employees affected by the proposed closure and will conduct the process in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
