McDonald's logo gets green background in Europe
McDonald's will swap the traditional red backdrop for a deep hunter green to offset its Golden Arches across German in an effort to promote a more eco-friendly image, the company said Monday.
The change is to occur in about 100 German McDonald's restaurants by the end of 2009, McDonald's said in a statement. Some franchises in Great Britain and France have already started using the new color scheme, said McDonald's Germany spokesman Martin Nowicki.
"This is not only a German initiative but a Europewide initiative we've already begun,"Nowicki told the AP in a phone interview.
