AVEBE selects Veendam for its new Head Office
Agosto 14, 2011
AVEBE will move back into its previous headquarters in Veendam.

AVEBE has reached an agreement to that extent with the lessor and with Veendam Council.

By the end of this year AVEBE will return to the former Head Office, which was sold and vacated by the company in 2006, but this time as lessee.

The current AVEBE Head Office at the factory site Foxhol in Hoogezand Council is no longer adequate. It is outdated and the renovation costs are so high that the company decided to look for a cheaper alternative, with a preference for leasing instead of buying

The vacation of the current offices in Foxhol also fits within the development of the business park Foxhol. After demolition an attractive plot will become available for a new use.

Bert Jansen, CEO of AVEBE, said about the choice: “When we move our Head Office, we also want to move a number of other functional organisations at the same time in order to improve internal communication. The office in Veendam came out as the best option, both in terms of size and location. For example, it is near the office in Veendam where our commerce and R&D are located.”

Veendam Council is exceptionally satisfied with the return of AVEBE’s Board, staff and supporting services;all in all 200 people. The Councillor for Economic Affairs of Veendam, Henk Jan Schmaal, commented: “This signature building in the centre of Veendam was built especially for AVEBE at one time. In 2006 we appreciated that AVEBE sold its Head Office during a difficult period, but we are extremely pleased that the AVEBE logo is about to return. This is good for AVEBE and for the continued development of the centre of Veendam. It is simply fantastic that AVEBE returns to its roots!”

The lessor is also pleased that his premises are leased out in full, after having been vacant for 5 years. “We could not have asked for a better occupant. After many plans for reuse and development, it is now leased to the most suitable party - AVEBE. That is good for the premises and good for Veendam!”, said lessor George Helmers.
