De Duitse aardappelexport draait volop, dat zegt het Duitse marktbureau AMI op basis van cijfers over november van het Statistische Bundesambt. De export van verse aardappelen is het afgelopen jaar flink omhoog gegaan naar een totaal van 110.000 ton. Dat komt neer op een stijging van 41 procent ten opzichte van vorig jaar.
AMI spreekt van een recordexport. 'Zeker de afgelopen drie jaren hebben we niet zo'n groot volume gezien, maar vermoedelijk hebben we te maken met de grootste export ooit.' Het marktbureau geeft als reden voor de groei de vraag vanuit de Nederlandse aardappelverwerkende industrie en ook de toegenomen leveringen naar Oost-Europa en Rusland.
