Ukraine’s MAIS has started building the country’s first potato processing plant producing fries, flakes, and flour. Handling 180,000 t of potatoes annually, it aims to reduce imports, boost exports, and modernize Ukraine’s potato sector by 2027.

“Potato Agro” is building a plant in Cherkasy region to process 150–180K tons of potatoes yearly into fries and flour. The facility is under construction, with a flour line set to launch in early 2026, says director Olga Lonska.

The Central Plains Group Ukraine company along with investors from Great Britain and Finland plan to build a facility for the waste-free processing of potatoes, particularly potato starch, in the village of Glynyany of the Zolochevsky district in the Lviv region of Ukraine.

Ukrainian potato starch manufacturer PPCE-VIMAL is currently constructing a potato processing plant in Chernihiv, Ukraine. Production is scheduled to start in September 2018.
