The province Hamadan in Iran claims the world’s highest Potato productivity

“Export markets of potato in this province should be maintained and expanded because of the fact that our province haws the world’s leading potato yields,” said the governor of the province Hamadan.

“Potato productivity in Hamadan is over 40 tons a hectare while the global standard is only 27 tons,” added Dr. Behrouz Moraadi.

“This province produces about one million tons of potato, equivalent of 20 percent of the country’s needed volume, a year” he added.
