Winston is a very early maturing potato cultivar developed in the UK by breeder J. Dunnett, combining genetics from Kismet and a Desiree × Maris Piper cross. It produces smooth, oval to round tubers with white to yellow skin, shallow yellow eyes, and creamy flesh. The plant has a spreading habit, red-violet flowers (though rarely seen), and poor foliage cover. Winston is suitable for multi-purpose and salad use, offering a fairly firm texture when cooked and little to no discoloration.
