The quick response of the Hartland Fire Department limited the damage to the contents of a storage warehouse in Hartland, NB on Thursday morning. Just before 10:30 a.m., the fire department responded to a call of a structure fire along McLean Avenue in the town's industrial park.
The firefighters arrived on scene to see dark smoke billowing out of the building's doors into the clear blue sky.
Hartland Fire Chief Mike Walton said the building, owned by Day &Ross Inc., was used to house food products.
It was once used by McCain Foods Ltd., he said, but was currently being rented by Ben Brake (HSF Foods) to store potato flakes.
There were only 46 pallets that were involved, and there was no damage to the building other than smoke damage."
