De aardappeloogst in Nederland is grotendeels achter de rug. Naar schatting is begin week 41 ca. 90% gerooid. Op de zwaardere grond zullen er nog een paar “verdwaalde” percelen en hoekjes moeten worden gerooid, op de lichtere (zand)grond zal is dat nog ca. 15%. De hoofdoogst van 2011 zal de boeken ingaan als “vroeg en snel”.
Veel van de nu nog te rooien aardappelen gaan af land direct naar de verwerker. Dit aanbod zal worden uitgesmeerd over een groot deel van de maand oktober. Het droge en ook warme weer heeft voor goede rooiomstandigheden gezorgd.
Toch neemt het aantal gevallen van partijen met rot in de bewaring toe. Hoe groot de problemen zijn, zal de komende tijd moeten blijken. Het aanbod van moeilijk of niet langer te bewaren aardappelen zal volgens insiders de komende periode echter toenemen en daarmee zal de druk op de markt worden verhoogd.
