Since 2017, Stefan Töpefl has been Managing Director at Elea, where he focuses on translating scientific insight into reliable, scalable solutions for the food industry. As a food engineer with a strong focus on process and equipment design, Stefan is driven by a clear motivation: to use Pulsed Electric Field (PEF) technology to make food processing more efficient, sustainable, and future‑proof, while consistently keeping industrial realities in mind. Stefan earned his PhD in Food Process Engineering from Berlin Technical University in 2006. In parallel with his role at Elea, he has been Professor of Food Processing at Hochschule Osnabrück since 2009, maintaining a close and active link between academia and industry to ensure that innovation remains both scientifically sound and industrially applicable.

He joined Elea in R&D in 2018 after earning his Master’s in Food Technology, focusing on potato chips, French fries, and other snack applications, and later progressed to his current role supporting clients from pilot trials to full-scale system implementation. Kevin combines technical expertise with practical guidance to help customers improve efficiency, product quality, and sustainability using PEF technology.
