The Farmers Field Day at World Potato Congress 2026 will take place on Thursday, 29 October 2026, at FreshCrop in Mau Narok, Kenya. Bringing the World Potato Congress from the conference hall into the field, the event will connect more than 1,500 Kenyan farmers with international delegates, researchers, seed companies, technology providers, input suppliers and other potato industry stakeholders.
The Field Day will feature more than 30 live demonstration plots showcasing potato varieties, seed, crop nutrition, crop protection, production practices and sustainable farming approaches under real growing conditions. Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore machinery, precision agriculture, smart farming technologies and other innovations designed to improve potato production and farm efficiency.
A key focus of the event will be practical knowledge exchange. Farmers can meet directly with agronomists, researchers, technology companies, input providers and industry experts, while international delegates will gain first-hand insight into potato production in Kenya. Talks and demonstrations will further highlight practical solutions for crop management, climate-smart agriculture and sustainable potato production.
More than just a one-day exhibition, the Farmers Field Day is being developed as a living showcase of potato innovation, with demonstration plots planted and managed in the months leading up to the event. Through collaboration between the World Potato Congress, FreshCrop, the National Potato Council of Kenya and industry and research partners, the event aims to connect global innovation with local farming knowledge and create lasting opportunities for collaboration across Kenya’s potato value chain.
