Horsch Band Spraying with Boom Control System

Horsh Band Spraying with Boom Control System

Band spraying reduces the amount of pesticides used. The HORSCH Leeb sprayers with their BoomControl system and nozzles at 25 cm intervals already allow band spraying at 50 or 75 cm intervals. Until now, it was not possible to adapt to all row spacings, which is why we invented the tilted nozzle body.

These nozzles body allows to shift the spraying by 5 or 10 cm in relation to the position of the nozzle on the boom. This allows to work in sugar beets with 45cm between rows but also on potatoes in ridges of 75cm or 90cm.

The system is particularly interesting for potato cultivation. Indeed, in the early stages of development of the potato it is possible to spray only the top of the ridge to reduce the amount of product used by about 40%.

This is very interesting for seed producers who make several passes of oil and fungicide at the beginning of the crop cycle. With 75cm mounds, the system allows to frame the mound with two nozzles which increases the coverage and therefore the efficiency while limiting the quantity of product.
