Manter SmartLine (MSL)

The Manter SmartLine (MSL) is a line control system that enables the operator to operate the packing line from one location. It communicates with every machine and reduces line change-over times by changing the configuration of all machines at once. The SmartLine's order management functionality enables the packing station manager to prioritize orders.

Furthermore, it provides insights on work in progress and informs the remaining time for producing orders. In the future, it will synchronize with the customer's ERP or MES systems and easily integrate into every packing station.

MSL keeps track of the product in the line and will be able to, for example, stop the infeed section of a packing line early on to prevent transporting too much product. In this way, it contributes to reducing the spillage of products. Also, it will be able to give early warnings when packing machines will run out of packing material.

By using MSL, the companies get a better overview of the efficiency of the equipment and can schedule their investments accordingly. Technology is becoming smarter, and humans are increasingly supported, both in thinking and execution. Human error will reduce as technology increases. More consumer packages can be packed in a shorter time with less spillage.
