The owners of Saratoga Specialties Company, which produces Original Saratoga Chips, are hoping to sell the business.
Danny and Shelly Jameson, who started the business in 2008, announced that the business is for sale in a press release issued Monday.
Potato chips were invented in the Spa City and in the release Danny Jameson says he started the business “with the simple mission of reintroducing the Saratoga Chip to the local market.”
The business now sells nearly 20 products including dip mixes and the For Goodness Shakes line.
The company has a partnership with nonprofit Saratoga Bridges. Some of the organizations clients are hired to package the chips as part of a job training program.
According to the press release, purchase of the company includes “a completely debt free operational business, the Moon Brand Trademark protected packaging, extensive customer lists and good will, all copyrighted artwork and images, receivables, inventory, point of sale display racks, all social media platforms (web site, Facebook, Twitter, E-commerce) all office equipment, vendor lists, current memberships, all guarded product recipes and formulas and a complete transfer of all associated intellectual property. Also included is a small collection of Original Saratoga Chip antiques.”
The Jamesons did not release their asking price for the business.
