Door het slechte najaar werd de oogst van heel wat teelten vertraagd, waardoor meer percelen dan normaal, nog niet geoogst zijn. Het Algemeen BoerenSyndicaat (ABS) schat dat vorig week nog vijf procent van de aardappelen, 35 procent van de suikerbieten en 60 procent van de korrelmaïs op het veld stond, naast heel wat wintergroenten.
De uitzonderlijke regenval van het voorbije weekend heeft er volgens Boerenbond voor gezorgd dat heel wat van de niet geoogste percelen, volledig vernield zijn. Voor de resterende aardappelen is de toestand hopeloos, beaamt ABS.
Ook staan er aardappelloodsen onder water.
