Time spent assessing the crop is time well spent, said North Norfolk potato grower Tony Bambridge, speaking at Sutton Bridge Crop Storage Research.
He said that when it comes to storage growers should be objective with the measurement of problems with the crop in the field and what the effect will be once the crop goes into store.
He said that long-term storage came with risks and could be costly, and in low priced years failed to deliver value.
