En 2011 hubo menos hortalizas y más frutas ingresadas al Mercado Modelo en relación al año 2010. La caída más importante en el volumen de ingresos se dio en la papa con un 13,6% menos que el año pasado. Según un informe del Observatorio Granjero, una posible causa es el aumento en los últimos años de la importación de papa procesada como puré y congelada pre-frita.
