Aviko, one of Europe's leading producers of potato-based food products and part of Royal Cosun, has acquired the remaining 75% of the shares in Eurofrits, making the Spanish producer of frozen potato products and snacks a full member of the Aviko group.

The agreement was signed by Maarten van Delst, CEO of Aviko, and Daniel de la Pedraja Yllera, owner of Eurofrits. The two companies have collaborated successfully since 2009, with Aviko previously holding a minority stake. This step aligns with Royal Cosun’s Unlock 30 strategy, aimed at accelerating growth in value-added categories within Europe and strengthening Aviko’s position in the snackables segment.

Strategic reinforcement of the European portfolio

With Eurofrits, Aviko adds a distinctive range of snacks and plant-based products to its value-added portfolio. Eurofrits serves the Iberian market (Spain and Portugal) under its own brand, while part of the assortment is distributed by Aviko in other European markets.

The acquisition enables further expansion and consolidation of Aviko’s snackables offering, allowing the company to better respond to regional preferences and Europe’s growing demand. It also strengthens Aviko’s position in the Iberian frozen food market, a region identified with additional growth potential.
